Time / Date:
* It is ideal to attend the virtual sessions, but you can also learn at your own pace and watch the replay of the videos.
Course Curriculum:
Week 1: Introduction to Manual Exposure
Week 2: Exposure & Motion
Week 3: Exposure & Depth of Field
Week 4: Basic Composition Principles
What equipment do I need to succeed in this course?
You’ll want a basic DSLR or Mirrorless Camera. Anything that allows for manual exposure (meaning you can adjust aperture, shutter, and ISO), and interchangeable lenses.
What if I’ve never used a camera before? I’m a little intimidated by learning online.
This course is truly a fundamentals course!* I will take you from beginner to intermediate photographer in 4 weeks. I’ll walk you through each step with simple instructions. Most of my students start with zero knowledge and walk away feeling confident with their cameras.
* It is true that you should take the time to read your camera manual and/or watch a youtube video just to see how to find the dials that adjust the Aperture, Shutter, and ISO on your specific camera model. I will walk you through all the technical and creative aspects of these features.
How much time should I spend on the material?
Our weekly meetings are about an hour. I suggest spending 3-5 hours per week practicing the lessons and working on the assignments.
